Dr Warwick Badgery is a Principal Research Scientist and Research Leader for Rangelands and Tropical Pastures at the NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD), based at the Orange Agricultural Institute. He has over 20 years’ experience in farming systems research, with a focus on improving profitability, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and enhancing the sustainability of livestock and cropping systems.
Warwick is the Deputy Program Leader for the Integrated Systems Program of the Net Zero Agriculture CRC and previously served as Program Leader for the Feedbase Theme of the national Livestock Productivity Partnership. His current research portfolio covers grazing trials on low‑methane pastures, grazing management impacts on soil carbon, the development of proxies for estimating greenhouse gas footprints, and whole‑farm emissions reduction modelling.
In addition to his research leadership roles, Warwick serves on the Australian Rangeland Society Council, is an Honorary Senior Fellow with the University of Melbourne, and has previously been a Visiting Professor at China Agricultural University.
